Most Common Logo Printing Ways For Activewear

Dec. 08, 2022

If you want to print your logo on the yoga clothes, you can do it in several different ways, such as embroidery, screen printing or transfer. As a professional yoga clothing manufacturer in China, we will introduce several common printing methods in detail to solve your doubts about how to print logo when customizing yoga clothing.

Embroidery is a technique involving the use of a sewing machine to apply designs to fabric. An image of the logo is uploaded to the software, and the machine stitches the design on any surface. To use embroidery for a logo, thick fabrics are preferred, as thin fabrics might tear when stitched. If you choose to embroider or iron-on patches, you will need to use a converter, such as Convertio to obtain the correct logo file.

Screen Printing

Screen printing is a versatile printing method that can be used on an array of yoga or fitness wear.  Screen printing is an economical method for creating multiples of a logo design or other imagery. Each print must be customized for the specific design. Screen printing offers good durability, making it suitable for products that will be used frequently or handled often. This method is a common choice among activewear manufacturers and designers because it can create sharp, high-quality images on fabric.

The durability of screen-printed designs is quite good and they can last a long time on fabric. The durability of screen printing makes it ideal for T-shirts, bags and other items that will receive regular use. Yoga clothing (clothing made with stretchy fabrics) is also well suited to this type of printing.

Thermal Transfer

A common way to print logos on yoga garments is thermal transfer. Thermal transfer printing is a process by which customized graphics are transferred from paper to a garment.

In this method, the required graphics is first printed on special transfer paper using solvent ink, then pressed onto the garment with a hot press. This type of ink allows the design to be transferred from paper to yoga wear.

Due to its versatility and durability, thermography is widely used in textile printing. The charm of thermal transfer printing is that it is suitable for different materials and fabrics. Compared with other methods, it is almost no mess, and requires minimal maintenance.

Sublimation Printing

Sublimation printing, a variant of thermal transfer printing, is one of the most popular methods for decorating custom yoga pants. It works by digitally printing graphics and then heating them to transfer dye to custom yoga pants. Unlike other thermal transfer printing technologies, sublimation uses dyes that become gas when heated. Heat pressure and time cause the dyes to change from a solid state to a gas state, and then back again to solid state. This process is unparalleled because the gas is added to the polyester fabric instead of being placed on top as an ink layer.

Printing Plastisol Transfer

The plastisol transfer process is very similar to screen printing. The artwork is first inkjet printed on plastisol transfer paper, then you use this paper to heat the design on the custom yoga pants.

CAD-Cut thermal transfer vinyl printing

CAD-Cut printing is a technique commonly used to transfer printed designs onto custom yoga pants, most commonly used for numbers, names, and logos. The process involves using a machine to cut designs and letters on colorful vinyl sheets; then heat-pressing each vinyl onto custom yoga pants.
